A Girl Named Fred: A Story of Laughter and Love Through Breast Cancer, Grief, and Making Margaritas Out of Life's Lemons
Callie Lovvorn has always been a little of a square peg in a round hole. She grew up in the Bible Belt of West Texas on a Cotton Farm and spent much of her twenties and thirties deconstructing the idea of the perfect life. At 25, she found herself divorced and a single mom to two special needs boys. She moved back home and became a newspaper editor and publisher. After having a few years of grief and change, she declared 2019 to be her year, only to be diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer in March. This moment set off a series of events that made her realize that she was thankful for the pause and appreciation for life afterwards.
Join her on this wild journey as she tells you about the moments she laughed so hard she cried and the moments she was real with God about possibly dying.
